Panel Name

Tracking changes in composition of any group of SNP markers is essential for comparing research results between projects.  The parentage SNP markers presented here were derived from a panel referred to as the, USDA Bovine SNP Set for Parentage-Based Traceback (UPT_BTA_2007.121.V1).  To facilitate tracking, the panel name includes:  target species, year it was defined, number of markers used, and a version number that denotes marker changes within the set (e.g., SNPs replacements).
