The International Sheep Genomics Consortium (ISGC) SNPs for parentage, traceback, and animal ID

Access web-based information for sheep parentage markers

SNP Summary Table (Excel file, 200k)

ISGC list of about 140 candidate SNPs and minor allele frequencies (MAF) for use in sheep parentage determination, animal identification, and etc.  Please note:  the development of these SNP markers should be considered "a work in progress."  The SNPs are currently undergoing continued screening to evaluate their utility and improve their reliability.  The screening includes: 1)  continued genome mapping to refine the spacing between markers; 2) genomic DNA sequencing in diverse sheep populations to identify nearby repetitive elements, high frequency insertion/deletions and SNPs, "hairpin’ structures"; etc; and 3) multiplex genotyping on various platforms to evaluate marker compatibility.  To date the SNPs have been mapped, screened for MAF in about 500 sheep from 28 animals groups representing 23 breeds.  Some regions with "parentage" SNPs have also been resequenced with flanking SNPs identified.
